In 2012, members of the Fertilizer Society of South Africa (FSSA) identified fifteen services and activities that were essential to the future and existence of the society. Most of these services and activities have received attention, being improved upon or extended since the end of 2012.

A questionnaire was designed to determine whether this list was still valid in 2016. Fertasa’s members were asked to rate the activities in terms of importance, rate Fertasa’s overall performance and to provide insight into their expectations of Fertasa by means of open-ended questions. The survey was made available online (www.surveymonkey.com) and 117 committee members were invited to participate, of which 42 responded.

After almost 4 years, the membership of Fertasa had doubled. It was therefore decided in 2019 that a further survey should be done.
