Product Registrations

Please take note: Fertasa stresses that only products registered according to Act 36 of 1947 should be considered for purchase and application in any plant production system. The appropriate registration number must be displayed on the fertilizer label and container.

Fertasa provides a service to potential applicants for the registration of fertilizer products.

This service is available to members of Fertasa for a fee, but also at this time to non-members for an additional amount.

Potential applicants will need to provide company details, a completed application form, a draft label formulation, details of raw materials (registration numbers or specification sheets), and a signal analysis certificate from an independent ISO 17025 accredited laboratory or AgriLASA affiliated laboratory collaborating nutrient concentrations and indicating potentially harmful element concentrations.

Documentation and forms relating to the application process are obtainable here: Fertilizer Application Form and Label Template

On satisfactory completion of the application, Fertasa will submit the necessary documentation to the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) for further processing.

There are two fees involved when registering a fertilizer product, namely the Fertasa service fee and the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) fee. A list of fees can be seen below.
